Dr. Mike Bagley opened Clayton Animal Hospital in 1986. Dr. Mike attended Clayton High School, North Carolina State University, and received his DVM degree from Auburn University in Alabama. He enjoys the many facets of veterinary medicine and has worked diligently to employ cutting edge technology and instrumentation in the animal hospital (see our services). Dr. Mike enjoys the challenges of veterinary medicine, especially cardiac cases. To stay current in the field, Dr. Mike annually attends a number of continuing education conferences including The North American Veterinary Conference and The Central Veterinary Conference. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, running, and spending time with his family, including Wrinkles (corgi), Cinder (adopted cat), and Glacia and Teddi (guinea pigs). |

Dr. Beam |
Dr. Stacey Beam graduated from the North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994, and completed an internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Along with her strong interest in ophthalmology, she has completed extensive training in dentistry, and is certified with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Dr. Beam has been practicing at Clayton Animal Hospital since 1995. |
Dr. Curtis Smith is a Clayton Animal Hospital original. His first experience with veterinary medicine was as a kennel worker and assistant at C.A.H. in 1992. When he graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997, he returned to the hospital where he has practiced ever since. Dr. Smith has given special attention throughout his veterinary training and career on bringing the hospital's excellant quality care to a broader range of animals including reptiles and many types of small mammals. Dr. Smith especially likes helping clients to understand their pets and how various treatments work to help them. |

Dr. Kelly Camacho has been a part of the Clayton Animal Hospital team since October 2000. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 1997. She served a Medical & Surgical Internship at Mississippi State University from 1997-98. Dr. Camacho has particular interests in the disciplines of oncology & behavior modication. In her spare time, she enjoys agility training, reading, running, & spending time with family, including three dogs and two cats. |
Dr. Sechrist |
Dr. Shawntel Sechrist received her undergraduate and veterinary training at North Carolina State University. After graduation she completed an internship in emergency and critical care medicine at the After Hours Emergency Clinic in Raleigh. She joined the Clayton Animal Hospital team in 2005. She works with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and pocket pets. Dr. Sechrist's areas of interest are pain management and geriatric medicine. She currently shares her home with four cats and two dogs. |

Dr. Christina Holzer, a graduate of the North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, joined the Clayton Animal Hospital team in 2007. With her recent schooling and passion for care, she brings fresh ideas of the newest advances in medicine and pain management. Dr. Holzer's professional interests are in internal medicine, general and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, and behavior to improve the human-animal bond. Dr. Holzer enjoys offering the highest quality of care, establishing a pleasant environment for each patient, and spending time with owners so they feel well informed and comfortable. |
Cindy Practice Manager |
Cindy Drury joined the Clayton Animal Hospital team in 2002. She attended Lenior Rhyne College & Central Carolina Community College. She became a registered veterinary technician in 1985, & from there worked in emergency medicine for 18 months. She later became part of the instructional staff of the Veterinary Medical Technician program at Central Carolina Community College. In September of 1988, Cindy began working in the ICU of NCSU-College of Veterinary Medicine, rising through the ranks to Small Animal Nursing Supervisor. In 1996, she joined the VSRP Practice, a surgical specialty facility in Cary, where she worked for six years before arriving at CAH. Cindy is a member of several Vet Tech organizations & is currently serving on the board of directors of the NCCAA. Cindy is proudly owned by an 18 month old yellow lab named "Manny Paws." |

Dr. Barzola |
Dr. Carrie Odom Barzola, a Johnston County native, began her pursuit of veterinary medicine at Clayton Animal Hospital. After receiving her under- graduate degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1999, she joined the Clayton Animal Hospital staff as a veterinary assistant. Dr. Barzola attended the North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, focusing on small animal medicine. Upon her graduation in 2008, she returned to practice medicine at her home away from home, Clayton Animal Hospital. Dr. Barzola has special interests in cardiology, oncology, and internal medicine. Futhermore, she has a passion for client education and communication, hoping to strengthen the human-"faithful companion" bond. During her free time, Dr. Barzola enjoys playing tennis, snow skiing, biking, and spending time with her family, including two dogs, Greta and Winston, and two cats, Kenan, and Alex. |
